The Lord Supplies
Scripture: Philippians 4:10-23
I rejoiced greatly in the Lord that at last you renewed your concern for me. Indeed, you were concerned, but you had no opportunity to show it. I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
Yet it was good of you to share in my troubles. Moreover, as you Philippians know, in the early days of your acquaintance with the gospel, when I set out from Macedonia, not one church shared with me in the matter of giving and receiving, except you only; for even when I was in Thessalonica, you sent me aid more than once when I was in need. Not that I desire your gifts; what I desire is that more be credited to your account. I have received full payment and have more than enough. I am amply supplied, now that I have received from Epaphroditus the gifts you sent. They are a fragrant offering, an acceptable sacrifice, pleasing to God. And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
To our God and Father be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Hey Friend Sometimes we feel like we a lacking just a little, that if we just had a little more of ______ (You fill in the blank). But if we open up to God I think we will have just what we need. That was my revelation and God moment this week….
I was helping a good friend of mine install a steam boiler for heating a house. It was a long arduous day. I’m usually pretty good with the piping aspect of these jobs, that is when I have all the right parts I need. The challenge is that often halfway through the project you need to make some changes or adaptations. I guess it’s kinda like life that way. My dad always says “You wanna hear God laugh? … Tell Him your plans!”
There were a couple trips back to the supply store, mostly because they did not send all the pieces on the list the first time. But then at some point in the day there are no more trips to the supply store, because it is closed.
Well, this day, and into the evening as each challenge, change or unforeseen need for an adaptation occurred it was as if I went to the box of supplies and found exactly what I needed. It almost felt like Jesus feeding the 5,000 with the five loaves of bread (read about it in John 6:1-14)
It got me to thinking about Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Sometimes it’s just about having a good attitude and an open mind to be willing to give God space to work in our lives. I won’t say the day was “Fun” and I probably just like you I would have preferred not to have the challenges that made things take longer. Yet God never said he would make all our challenges go away, but He did promise to be there with us throughout our lives.

Prayer: Jesus, I confess that sometimes I think in my heart that you are not enough. I worry that you won’t provide for me. I try to provide for myself and take care of myself forgetting that you are a loving father. Help me to remember that you have promised to give me all that I need and to rest in your promises.

Point to Ponder: Who do I really trust for my provision? Myself? God? Others? Does the one I look to for provision give me peace or give me angst?
Verse to Memorize and Meditate on: Philippians 4:19 And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.
Apply it to your life: Realize today that what is in your hand, what is in your bank account, what is in your life. Is enough, and if you have need for more, the Lord will provide it at the proper time.
