Humility Intro
Jesus the epitome of Humility
Philippians 2:5-8 In your relationships with one another, have the same mindset as Christ Jesus: Who, being in very nature God, did not consider equality with God something to be used to his own advantage; rather, he made himself nothing by taking the very nature of a servant, being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself by becoming obedient to death—even death on a cross!
What Humility isn’t
Confidence is quiet and Giving, while Arrogance is Loud and Demanding.
Self-Deprecation
Mathew 22:39 (Jesus Declared) And the second (greatest commandment) is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’
Low Self-Esteem
Psalm 139:14 I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made; your works are wonderful, I know that full well.
Self-Promoting Sacrifice
Mathew 6:16 (Jesus said) 16 “When you fast, do not look somber as the hypocrites do, for they disfigure their faces to show others they are fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward in full.

Asking and Accepting Help
Mathew 7:7 “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you.”
Being Vulnerable, Open and Authentic
Pursuing Obedience without Demanding Recognition
Confidence
While Ego is fueled by Insecurity, Humility is built upon Confidence.

Altar Call
