Message Notes
Priorities
Mathew 6:24-34
The Tyranny of the Temporal
Mathew 6:24 “No one can serve two masters. Either you will hate the one and love the other, or you will be devoted to the one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and money.
Define the Goal.
Mathew 6:21 For where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
Mark 8:36 What good is it for someone to gain the whole world, yet forfeit their soul?
Fences
Mathew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes?
Foundations
Luke 6:48 (Jesus said,)They (the Wise) are like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid the foundation on rock. When a flood came, the torrent struck that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
Jesus said in Luke6 that we must dig down and lay a good foundation.
Addition
2 Peter 1:5-8 For this very reason, make every effort to add to your faith goodness; and to goodness, knowledge; and to knowledge, self-control; and to self-control, perseverance; and to perseverance, godliness; and to godliness, mutual affection; and to mutual affection, love. For if you possess these qualities in increasing measure, they will keep you from being ineffective and unproductive in your knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.
