For years I have been intrigued by the man this holiday claims to honor. Reverend Martin Luther King Jr. Though Today observance of the man has been shortened to MLK on our calendars, His title was “Reverend”. For me it is not just a reminder of the civil rights movement that this honored Reverend represented. But a testimony to what the church in America has lost sight of.

God is active. Hebrews 4:12 tells us that God is expressing Himself, he is alive and active. (New Willie Translation) God is in motion, He is moving leading, (Romans 8:14 For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.) guiding, speaking and if we allow him, using everything to mold us shape us and transform us. Romans 8:28 says “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” Very often though we do not understand or comprehend what he is trying to do or accomplish in the situations around us or with the turmoil within us.

25% of New year’s resolutions don’t last a week. And after 6 months 54% of New year’s resolutions have been given up. But that doesn’t have to be the case with you!

Christmas is the busiest time of year, the time when we celebrate the coming of Jesus. And if we are not intentional we are prone to miss him to have no room for him in our lives just like the inn keeper.

We all face temptation. But God has given us the tools and the power to overcome and continue living and walking in the amazing Grace and freedom He has blessed us with.
