No More Excuses Message notes

Mathew 14:13-21

Prayer as an Excuse
James 1:15-16 Suppose a brother, or a sister is without clothes and daily food. 16 If one of you says to them, “Go in peace; keep warm and well fed,” but does nothing about their physical needs, what good is it?
Mathew 14:16 Jesus replied, “They do not need to go away. You give them something to eat.”
The Disciples become the answer to their own prayer: Mathew 9:37-10:5
The Parable of the talents: Mathew 25:14-30

Notice
2 Corinthians 1:3-4 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God.
Mark 6:31 Then, because so many people were coming and going that they (the disciples) did not even have a chance to eat, he said to them, “Come with me by yourselves to a quiet place and get some rest.”.
It is in Jesus Grief that He has compassion on others, it is in the disciple’s hunger that they notice the hunger of others, it is often in our deepest pain that we notice the pain of others.
Hebrews 4:15 For we do not have a high priest who is unable to empathize with our weaknesses, but we have one who has been tempted in every way, just as we are—yet he did not sin.

Acknowledge
Mathew 14:17 “We have here only five loaves of bread and two fish,” they answered.

Mathew 17:17 “You unbelieving and perverse generation,” Jesus replied, “how long shall I stay with you? How long shall I put up with you? Bring the boy here to me.”
Mark 11:23 “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them.
John 14:13 Jesus said, “And I will do whatever you ask in my name, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son.”
John 6:5-6  When Jesus looked up and saw a great crowd coming toward him, he said to Philip, “Where shall we buy bread for these people to eat?” 6 He asked this only to test him, for he already had in mind what he was going to do.
